Disability & Accessibility Statement
At UNRESTRICTED NUTRITION Counseling and Consulting, we believe that nutrition care is only effective when it is truly accessible. We are committed to providing a therapeutic environment that honors the diverse physical, sensory, and cognitive needs of all our clients, particularly those within the neurodivergent and disabled communities.
Our Commitment to Your Needs
We recognize that traditional healthcare often creates barriers. To ensure you receive the most supportive care possible, we offer the following accommodations:
Sensory-Informed Care: We welcome the use of stimming, fidget tools, or noise-canceling headphones during sessions. For telehealth appointments, we can adjust lighting or camera usage to reduce sensory overwhelm.
Flexible Communication: We offer multiple ways to engage, including verbal processing, chat-based communication during sessions, or written follow-ups to assist with executive functioning and memory.
Neuro-Affirming Goal Setting: We collaborate on nutritional goals that respect sensory sensitivities, executive dysfunction, and energy capacity. We do not use "compliance-based" models.
Fat-Positive & Accessible Environment: Our practice is rooted in Fat Positivity. We ensure our virtual spaces are free from weight stigma and are accessible to bodies of all sizes and abilities.
Scheduling Flexibility: We understand that chronic illness and disability can be unpredictable. We aim to be flexible with scheduling and offer virtual sessions to reduce the physical and emotional toll of travel.
Requesting Specific Accommodations
If you require an accommodation not listed here—such as closed captioning for video calls, specific document formats for screen readers, or adjusted session lengths—please let your dietitian know. We view accessibility as a collaborative and ongoing conversation.
